Deconstructing Dialogue is an abstraction of Coffee and Cigarettes a film by Jim Jarmush composed of eleven short films. Each of these short vignettes feature a discussion at a table where the characters drink coffee and smoke cigarettes. Each poster in this grid is a dissection of the dialogue in a scene. The structures are derived from studying aspects of conversation such as the frequency of words. The overlapping themes, connections, and recurring topics in the film inspire the forms that these diagrams take.Graphic Design, Information Architecture2011 -
The first humans to track time used astronomical events as their guide. I used the same idea, giving it a modern feel. Each day has a laser cut moon in it's correct phase. Each month is perforated so you can easily fold it or tear it out and hold it up to line it up with the moon. You can also shine light through it an project it onto a wall.
